Overseas Nursing Programme (ONP)
How to be a Supervised Practice Provider

The process begins with an educational audit of the care setting to assess its suitability as a clinical learning environment. The Education Audit tool has been designed to meet the professional body requirements for Audit of Practice. As per NMC regulations if you invite us to audit your clinical environment for ONP it will not include the old supervised practice programme or cover existing overseas students on this system.

The process for auditing includes the following:

a. The visit takes approximately 3 hours and includes completion of the audit document with recommendations
  b. If successful, the clinical area receives a certificate of accreditation valid for 1 year.
  c. If unsuccessful, the clinical area receives recommendations and an action plan. Please be advised that fees are still payable even if the clinical area does not achieve accreditation.
  d. The completed audit document is returned to you with your certificate and the home is placed on our website as an accredited centre. Please be advised you will not receive confirmation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  e. Students from your clinical area may then apply directly to us for admission to the programme.
  f. We prefer that you accept overseas nursing programme students from our data base of applicants, many of whom are already in the UK .

The cost of the accreditation process starts at: £700 + VAT per clinical environment (discount offered for multiple areas). Full payment will be required on confirmation of a date for the audit visit.

JSC training in collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University are committed to monitoring and evaluating the adaptation process in terms of its impact on both the overseas nurse and professional practice within the UK. We offer ongoing support and guidance to all those involved as part of our quality assurance.

If you would like to proceed with the accreditation process, please confirm that these terms and conditions are acceptable by signing and returning the statement of compliance by post or fax, upon receipt a mutually convenient date and time will be arranged.
